Friday the 13th

So, it's Friday the 13th. I'm not superstitious, are you? We were supposed to get a big bad storm during the night, but it didn't come. Christy, Sean, and Maddie were going to sleep in the camper and we had it already for them but we and they decided since the guest room wasn't being used yet they'd be better off in here. But there hasn't been a storm so far! I suppose one could still come, it's still pitch dark out! And we had worked to make the camper so homey and nice! Jerry had put out the awning, we set up the picnic table and lawn chairs, even the grass rug! But with the storm coming Jerry went out before they even got here and put it all away, especially the awning. The wind can really play havoc with an awning! The picnic table is one Jerry made years ago. It's made of one piece of plywood, cut into seven pieces and goes together like a puzzle! We haven't used it in years but thought this would be a good time to get it out again! Hopefully I can take a picture of it later with kids sitting around it or something!

Jerry and Christy are going out for breakfast this morning. This is the only morning they'll have a chance to do this (just the two of them) and it's a big tradition in our family for Jerry to take one of our kids out for breakfast. They took turns when they were young and they still look forward to it when they come to visit us! One year when everyone came home for Thanksgiving he took the guys out for breakfast, the girls all went shopping early (5:00 am) for the day after Thanksgiving sales. They got done and decided to crash the guys breakfast! They drove to the restuarant where they thought the guys went and sure enough there was Jerry's truck! So in they went. There were lots of laughs and the waitress took over (glad for the business). I was home with the kids!

Today we're looking forward to Tim, Shauna, Annie, & Kaleb arriving, but not until late tonight. It's been a year since we've seen them since they've been in Malaysia so we're very excited for them to arrive. In fact they are the reason the family is getting together! Oh, you thought they were coming to see us, huh? No, no, no, they're all coming to see Tim's family! Hopefully they'll see us too!

Heavenly Father, thank you for family, for good times when we all get together. Please keep us all safe and happy. Please keep Your Hand on those traveling. There'll be a lot of traveling going on this weekend and next weekend. And add to that Lorraine flying to Colorado to visit our mom. Please give us all good memorable times. I love you, Father.
